DESCRIPTION: French 3 piece mantel garniture, multi colored marble clock case with gilt rococo style ornament, mounted with a patinated figure of a young woman entitled "Les Favoris", after a sculpture by Aug. Moreau, side pieces with covered urns mounted to marble bases matching the clock case, the urn handles with birds, all on gilt acanthus decorated scroll feet, the bezel with thick beveled glass, Arabic numeral white enamel dial with polychrome floral decoration, blued steel hands, 8 days, time and strike, Pendule a Paris movement marked Samuel Marti, c1900
CONDITION: case castings good, figure with restoration to finish, crack in casting at base of tree trunk under figure, also missing something, originally held in her right hand, other mounts on clock case and all on side pieces now painted gold, one urn with bird beaks broken, one base with chip in stone and loss to top of foot casting, back left, stone has been lacquered, with runs and orange peel, dial good, hands good, hand collet missing, ticks and strikes, Ht 25"
